Hi Glow Girl!
I know the post is a little bit different to what I would normally talk about but these past couple of weeks have been stressful and tiring for me. Maybe you have had a tough couple of weeks too? If that’s the case then don’t worry you are not alone, and I have a suggestion that can really help.
One of the biggest and most important things I have learnt these past couple of weeks is to take the time for your mind, and to programme it the way you want it to be, rather than just letting it run wild with the same old thoughts that are causing the stress in the first place.
When life gets to stressful and worrying, one of the best things you can do is meditate. Go somewhere quiet and just take time to relax and breathe. Once you feel more relaxed then you can start to imagine your life the way you want it and the person you want to be. Spending time imagining your life this way can re-energize you and help you work through the tough times.
Mediating is something that is new to me, but these past couple of weeks I have been meditating for about 20 minutes each day, and let me tell you now its helped a lot! You may not feel you can give up 20 minutes to do it, but please try because once you have done it a few times I think you will find the benefits are well worth it. Even just relaxing for 20 minutes and focusing on your breathing can be a wonderful thing to do to make you feel better.
I would say the best time to mediate would be when you are home from school. Don’t instantly go onto your electronics, but instead take 20 minutes to just rest and relax before doing anything else. You will then feel refreshed to get on with whatever is next on your agenda.
I feel there is so much pressure these days especially for us teenagers to get good grades, fit in with friends etc, and the way I have coped with this pressure is taking the time to imagine and think about the things I want to achieve in life and really who I want to be as a person.
If the thought of meditating doesn’t appeal to you, I urge you just to try for 5 to 10 minutes, you might be surprised at the benefits you feel.
So, this weekend I know lots of you are going to busy bees flying all round the place but just remember use your time wisely and take a few minutes out of your day to focus on you and your mind 🙂
Have a great weekend, girls! See you next Wednesday for another exciting post, bye for now 🙂
